9:00am to 10:00am: Case study – Injured at work

Can you imagine being right handed and losing your right arm above the elbow? A workplace incident changed Alan's life forever and he is still dealing with the effects of losing a limb. Alan shares his story to warn employees that when you get hurt at work, it changes everything. Learn the cause of his injury, the events leading up to it and how it could have been prevented.

10:20am to 11:20am: Workcover insurance and contractors

Do you employ contractors? Learn whether you have WorkCover insurance obligations to ensure you're covered if there is a workplace injury.

11:30am to 12:30pm: Workplace bullying prevention program

What is workplace bullying? Learn how WorkSafe and the Bully Zero Foundation are working together to educate employers and employees about their rights and responsibilities under Victorian health and safety laws. Find out how to avoid the bystander phenomenon, what to do if bullying is occurring and who to contact for support.
